Video Art

Since 1985, Andreas Troeger has collaborated with artists like Alexeij Sagerer, Rabe Perplexum, Lennie Johnson, Silvia Kirchhof, Nam June Paik, John Sahag, Rachel Cohen, Olek, and Iara Lee. His video installation STORM, created with Silvia Kirchhof, has been exhibited in internationally recognized galleries.

Strom - Electric Art

Strom (current or flow) is flowing water in a powerful dimension. Then came electricity. It, too, flows. One experiences Strom only in its consequences: heat, cold, light, sound, image, movement. One never sees Strom itself.

Though this electricity has two poles. A positive and a negative: use and misuse. The negative aspect; electric shock as penalty: torture, death on the electric chair. Current as the cause of the ceasing of all flows.

Hair - John Sahag

A video mix created from my long collaboration with legendary hair designer John Sahag.

Hair becomes image, identity, product and spectacle.

The video constantly interrupts itself—faces, hairstyles, advertising, graphics and repeated images compete for attention until the surface begins to overwhelm the person underneath.

Made from the world of hair, the piece is ultimately about something larger: how easily we can be seduced into looking everywhere except at what is actually in front of us.
